I started Premier Pursuit because I’m passionate about helping attorneys build careers they’re genuinely excited about. I graduated from law school and began my career in BigLaw, practicing labor and employment law. After a few years, I made the leap into legal recruiting at an international agency and quickly realized how much I loved guiding attorneys through big career moves. That experience inspired me to create Premier Pursuit—a boutique legal recruiting firm focused on thoughtful, strategic, and personalized placements.
Successfully placed attorneys at AmLaw 200, boutique, and in-house legal departments nationwide
Former BigLaw associate with firsthand insight into law firm culture, expectations, and career paths
Deep network of legal professionals and decision-makers, with access to both posted and unlisted roles
Making a career move is a big decision, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
We specialize in attorney recruiting, helping attorneys find a new job. Our services also include expert resume writing, personalized interview coaching, and strategic job search guidance to set you up for success.

Crafting the Perfect Legal Resume: Essential Tips for Attorneys
Your resume is your first opportunity to make an impression on potential employers, and in the legal field, precision, clarity, and professionalism are non-negotiable. A polished resume can open doors, while even minor errors might close them. Whether you’re an associate or partner, these tips will ensure your legal resume stands out for all the right reasons:
1. Include Your Bar Admissions
This might seem obvious, but it’s critical—always list your bar admissions prominently on your resume. Employers need to know where you’re licensed to practice.
2. Clearly Define Your Role
Make it easy for recruiters to understand what type of attorney you are. Whether you’re a “Litigation Associate” or a “Corporate M&A Associate,” highlight it clearly near the top of your resume so your expertise is immediately evident.
3. Professional Summary: Optional, Not Mandatory
A professional summary isn’t necessary for most legal resumes. However, if you feel it adds value, keep it concise and focused. Use your judgment—don’t feel pressured to include one unless it strengthens your overall message.
4. Keep it to Two Pages
In most cases, your resume should not exceed two pages. Conciseness is key—hiring managers are sifting through numerous applications, so make sure every word earns its place. Only go beyond two pages if it’s absolutely, absolutely necessary (and honestly, it rarely is).
5. Check for Spelling and Accuracy
This cannot be overstated: there should be zero spelling mistakes anywhere on your resume. Double-check your contact information, too—misspelled email addresses or phone numbers happen more often than you’d think and can derail opportunities.
6. Include Full Contact Information
Make sure to include your email, phone number, and, if you’re comfortable, your address. This not only ensures potential employers can reach you easily but also makes your information easy to log in their backend portal systems.
7. Highlight Groups and Community Involvement
Membership in professional organizations or volunteer activities can add depth to your application. Employers value attorneys who engage in their communities and demonstrate leadership beyond the workplace.
8. Add an Interests Section (Optional)
A brief “Interests” section can add a personal touch to your resume. While it’s not essential, it can help create connection points with interviewers. Keep it tasteful and relevant—something like “volunteer at legal aid clinics” or “avid cyclist” is sufficient.
9. Formatting Matters
A clean, consistent format is crucial. Use clear headings and bullet points to organize your content, and leave ample white space for readability. Think of your resume as your first legal brief—it should be polished, clear, and professional.
An effective legal resume isn’t just a document; it’s a tool that communicates your capabilities, experiences, and professionalism. By following these tips, you’ll create a resume that positions you as a top candidate in the competitive legal market.
